So, I've been wavering and really dragging my feet on what language to learn. I've finally picked one. Java. Some of you may be thinking, boooo so boring. But you know what? You need to know Java to code on Android, and that folks is very appealing to me. My plan of attack is to get familiar with Java first, and then start playing with the Android SDK. Should be a fun way to learn. I've been browsing some books already but haven't yet decided which book to go with. Front runners include:
Head First Java 2nd Edition
Java 7: A Beginner's Tutorial
Learn Java for Android Development
Java: A Beginner's Guide, 5th edition
I think I'm going to go through the Head First book first, and then try one of the others afterwards. Fun times though, and I'm looking forward to making my first hello world.
